 Sake is alcoholic drink brewed from rice.
It is commonly referred to as "NIHONSYU" by Japanese people.
Sake has been an important part of Japanese culture.
In the past, sake was considered as a very special item, and served
for only the most important occasions such as weddings, birth celebrations,
 and other auspicious events.
 
Sakeware is indispensable for sake drinkers.
The traditional way of enjoying Japanese sake is to pour
the sake bottle (tokkuri), and then from the sake bottle
into the small sake cups.
It can be served either warm or cold.

   TOKKURI (sake flasks)   
Sake flasks are called "TOKKURI" in Japanese.
Tokkuri come in all shapes and sizes, and usually it holds about 360ml.

"CHOSHI" is another term for tokkuri, but most often choshi have a handle.
After using the flask, wash it out with water and let it dry in a well airy space.

such as GUINOMI, CHOKO, and SAKAZUKI in Japanese.

A
square cup holding 180ml originally designed as a rice measure.
Usually most recent people no longer drink from masu
but at auspicious events only.

How to enjoy SAKE
Warming sake;
Sake is served in a tokkuri.
Place the full tokkuri in boiling water until it reaches to the body temperature. 
Or, use a special sake kettle called a choshi.
Serving sake;
Hold the tokkuri with both hands, and fill a guest's cup.
Do not fill your own.
In formal situations, you should hold up the cup with one hand,
and support the bottom with the other as sake is being served to you.
Drinking sake;
Sake is very potent, let's sip it slowly. 
It has rather sweet flavor and distinctive aroma.
We offer ceramic sake bottles and cups that people drink sake with.
For people who do not drink, these will be wonderful ornaments.
